12-Year-Old Tawny (port)

This 12 year old tawny displays complex aromas of dried fruits, walnuts and caramel with luscious flavours of honeycomb, toffee and warm spices.

• Colour: Medium intensity, with a brown to orange
• Aromas: Smoky, dried fruits, nutty and toffee.
• Palate: Layered with citrus fruits, dried figs and sultanas.

A blend of vintages, with an average age of 12 years.

Hand harvested grapes late in season, to ensure full ripeness and concentration of flavours. 5-7 days on skins, before pressed off and chilled to arrest fermentation. A neutral spirt was added to the base wine. After 1 week of settling, the fortified wine was then racked to older barrels for the next 12 years for maturation. Barrels stored in a warm shed to enhance ageing.
